I had a brief spell of nausea at work today, as you well might after two days working when it’s 35C and humid. But according to my (Dutch) boss, it’s because I’m not eating enough bread. Have I mentioned how much the Dutch love bread?

Today at work I saw a man wearing clogs. Finally! I thought I’d never be able to say I saw a Dutch person in clogs. I also saw a ferret (in a cage).

While I’m at it, other unusual things I’ve seen using the internet in Amsterdam: a guy wearing plastic Spock ears with a blue hat with gold trim (outside right now); and a guy in high heels, a jacket and a wig (yep, that’s all. It was the day after the Queen’s Day weekend which should be enough to explain it).

Sometimes it’s really worth living in Amsterdam. I just saw a guy knock over a whole row of parked bikes outside the EasyEverything. I think I was the only person inside who saw it, so I must have looked like a big dork laughing at him. He coped a lot more gracefully than I would have.
